While I typically tend to save all of my extra-bold floral prints and leaf patterns for vacations in the tropics, I saw this printed jumpsuit at Old Navy and thought to myself, “Why not live everyday like you’re on vacation?” It’s all about a state of mind, you know? (I may be taking too many of Hallie’s SoulCycle classes! 😂)
I was about to buy this jumpsuit in black when I gave myself a little nudge to go for the colorful, leaf-like pattern instead. Sometimes there’s a little voice in the back of my head that says, “Wait, can you really pull this off?” But I’m in love with the print, and hey, let’s just live a little! I’m never one to shy away from color and pattern, but wearing a bold, all-over print definitely makes a statement, especially so when it’s in jumpsuit form.
I also bought the dress version of this fabric, too! I haven’t worn it yet, but I know it will get a lot of use this summer. For whatever reason, a printed dress feels so much safer to me than a jumpsuit… probably since it’s a bit less material! Speaking of material, though, both the jumpsuit and dress are so easy, breezy, and perfectly lightweight for the sticky months ahead!
A whole lot of tropical prints to go around…
To make this tropical pattern a bit more city-appropriate, I paired it with my trusty denim jacket and a pair of lace-up heels for a drinks date with my girlfriends last week. It’s surprisingly easy to style! Both the dress and the jumpsuit would look great with a white denim jacket, a white blazer, an off-white relaxed blazer, on-trend sandals, espadrilles, a chambray shirt tied around your waist, or even some type of white tweed jacket! I’m already planning on wearing the dress with a cute pair of light pink sneakers for an easy outfit sometime soon.
A few more rompers and jumpsuits I have my eye on…
What’s your take on the printed jumpsuit?! Would you go for the black or be a bit bolder with some color and pattern?
