Happy Friday! On one hand, this week has felt extremely long, but on the other, it went by in the blink of an eye. After my furniture got delivered on Monday, I tried to settle into a bit of a routine the rest of the week. Most days, Hallie and I were at Lyfe Kitchen or Le Pain Quotidien plugging away at our computers, trying to catch back up on life, work, and emails after the move. When I’ve been at my apartment, it’s been a seemingly endless task of unpacking boxes and finding a home for all of my things. I feel like I’ve made countless trips to Target and The Container Store to buy various organizational contraptions, but I still have a ways to go. This week was pretty mundane and left little time for exploring my new neighborhood, but it was in the 60’s all week in Chicago so I guess I was better off indoors!
When I do get back into the rhythm of having a social life, I’ll definitely be pulling out this dress again! I love the colorful ikat print, as well as the fit and flare shape. (Read: Extremely forgiving!)
I always associate summertime with floods of all-white or with lots of bright, bold colors. This dress definitely falls under the latter category! Subdued, it is not. The vibrant colors definitely make a statement, but it’s not too much to wear during the day. Toss on a denim jacket and a pair of sandals and you’re good to go for brunch, lunch, shopping, you name it!
Let’s talk about these shoes for a second, shall we? I purchased these at Zara a long time ago… Like spring of 2013? That’s pretty long for a pair of shoes that only cost $50! I’ve worn them constantly because they’re such a closet staple, but sadly, they sold out pretty quickly that year. If you’re in the market for a wear-with-anything-and-everything pair of nude strappy sandals, I’ve found a few similar options at various affordable price points!
This pair is probably the pick I would gravitate towards! Comfortable heel height (great for work or summer weddings) and under $100!
This pair is under $60!
This pair is a great option under $80, but the front strap is a little bit thicker.
This pair is the most expensive ($145) from the similar options I found. I love the mushroom suede color, though!
This pair isn’t neutral in color, but the style is almost identical. Plus, the pops of color are fun! Comes in Cobalt, Coral/Red, and Black.
