Friend Friday: Hair Care

This week’s FBFF topic is Hair Care. I am a total sucker for hair products. It’s hard for me to walk out of the salon empty-handed. I’ve been getting my hair colored since 7th grade so I’m constantly on the look-out for products to help hydrate and restore my hair. Maintaining your hair’s health is challenging, especially with all of the highlights, blowdryers, curling irons, flat irons, etc. I can’t wait to read about other bloggers’ hair secrets!

1. How often do you get your hair cut?

I go in for a trim every 6-8 weeks. And by trim, I mean no more than a quarter of an inch. I love my hair long!

2. Do you go to the same stylist each time, try someone new, go to theย cheap hair cutting chains or live it up in a salon?

I followed my last stylist all over — salon to salon to chain to salon and finally to her basement where she decided to start her own shop. I recently found a new stylist this Spring because my hair was becoming really damaged. I LOVE my new stylist (she actually cares about the health of my hair, shocking) and we are on the path to getting my hair back to healthy!

3. Do you color your hair? How often? Whatโ€™s your natural color?

I get my hair colored every 6-8 weeks as well. My natural color is a dull dark brown, but I have been blonde since the 7th grade. I colored my hair pretty close to my natural hair color my senior year of high school, but it didn’t look like me at all. (My mom told me I looked gothic ha!) I’ve been back to blonde ever since!

4. The one thing you always do to keep your hair looking great is:

I have to use a good quality salon shampoo and conditioner. ย I also must have a great leave-in product to put on right when I get out of the shower. Right now I’m using Sebastian Drench shampoo and conditioner. I’m loving Schwartzkopf Sealed Ends for when I get out of the shower. They both provide a lot of moisture and shine.

5. What hair trend do you love and wish you could rock?

I’ve always been obsessed with Victoria Beckham’s cut. I’ve thought about getting it many times and I’m sure I’d love it, but it’s the growing it back out process that I wouldn’t be fond of. I figure it is best to just keep it long for now!
