Ever since ‘athleisure’ became a trend a few years ago and health and wellness seem to be at the forefront of everyone’s minds, sneakers have been back in a big way. They’re not just for workouts anymore and they’re not just for running errands, either! There are so many cute styles available and they look so fresh with most all of our spring and summer pieces. Over the last year (probably a little bit longer), I’ve been swapping my usual sandals for a cute pair of sneakers, especially with dresses and skirts on the weekends. While sandals will forever be a great option, sneakers are a fun way to switch things up. Plus, they’re generally nicer to your feet and better for biking, too!
A little sundress and a fresh pair of sneakers is one of my favorite combinations to wear on the weekend! It’s cute, super comfortable, and just a little bit unexpected.
You can’t go wrong with a pair of white sneakers (they go with everything!), but there are tons of fun prints and colors, too.
Most of the outdoor farmers markets are back for the season in Chicago and I couldn’t be more excited… Green City is my favorite in Lincoln Park! (You can see posts from the market here and here.) The market pops up in Lincoln Park right across the street from Hotel Lincoln from May to October on Wednesday and Saturday mornings. (7am – 1pm) As with most things, the early bird gets the worm! In an effort to avoid the crowds on Saturday mornings, Wednesday mornings tend to be when I shop (and eat!). It’s an easy 30 minute walk from my apartment, but I usually don’t have the luxury of time during the week. Meet the Divvy Bike! There’s a dock right across from my place and right near the market entrance, too.
