Life can be so cyclical, can’t it? Every winter I go through this phase where I only wear neutrals… Mainly black, grey, and white. Sometimes even camel if I’m feeling adventurous! (I hope you can sense my sarcasm with that one… ) I don’t know why it is, but it happens every single year. I typically gravitate towards color and lots of navy, but it always turns a little darker in the winter months. Black on black on black tends to be the uniform. Rather than feeling bored with it, I’m learning to just embrace it. Nothing is more classic than black and white so I recently picked up these black and white Kate Spade bow loafers to freshen up my all-black ensembles. The rhinestone covered bows? How could I not? How very bows & sequins, you know? I actually got this pair, too, and I think both with transition nicely into the spring, too!
Aren’t they cute? I love how they’re kind of tuxedo-inspired, but the bows and subtle sparkles make them a bit more feminine.
If you, too, get yourself into a black on black routine, here are some more shoe favorites to spice things up from Kate Spade…
And some black and white bags for good measure, too…
I bought this Claudie Pierlot coat in Paris last March when Hallie and I went on a whim. It was an end-of-season sale that I couldn’t turn down. I remember Hallie looked at me like, “Do you really need another coat?!” But when you’re living in a cold-weather climate and your outerwear becomes such a huge part of your wardrobe for, like, eight months out of the year, I fully support having a closet full of coats for different occasions! This exact style isn’t available anymore, but here are some similar fur-collared coats at a variety of price points…
