Friday Finds || Vol. 3, Week 51

Happy Friday! I can’t believe it’s already the last Friday before the holidays kick off… I spent the week in Florida with my family (flying back to Chicago today!) and while the weather kind of sucked, it was nice to spend some quality time with the fam and get out of the Chicago cold for a few days. I’ve got two holiday parties in Chicago this weekend, so it’s sure to be a fun (but busy) few days!

I’m curious… Do you have to work on Monday and/or Tuesday? It seems like a lot of people are already signing off for the holiday season! Anyways, hope you have a great weekend! xo jrs

Here are this week’s finds…

OMG I’m OBSESSED with this little navy blue Kate Spade bag. Isn’t she gorg?! And on major sale, too… I wasn’t planning on getting myself a Christmas gift, but I feel like this might need to be it.

The Underlying Sweetness of Ghosting

If you need a last minute gift that will still arrive on time, I don’t know anyone that wouldn’t get use out of this charger! I don’t leave the house without mine, and it’s on Amazon Prime. (And it’s only $32!)

Loving the colors of these new earrings!

This jeweled headband is only $24 and comes in a bunch of colors! 🙌🏼

The Best Thing You Can Do Is Not Buy More Stuff

THE COAT is back in a few new colors. Not going to lie, kind of loving the red!

    You know I really appreciate that npr article about buying less stuff, but man is it jarring to see it sandwiched between a $24 headband and that done-to-death Amazon coat. I normally try not to judge others’ efforts, however small, because none of us are perfect – but a page full of “buy this!” links with one article about sustainability really feels like lip service, no?

      A lip service would insinuate that I said I’m never buying something new again and vowing to only shop secondhand, which I did not say and am not vowing to do. Friday Finds has always been, and will continue to be, a weekly series where I share things around the web that I find cute, helpful, interesting, insightful, etc.
      I’ve never once claimed to be a sustainable fashion blogger, nor will I ever be a minimalist. But I’m entitled to share a link to an article that I found interesting, and could be of value for my blog readers to read.
      And furthermore, if you view my Friday Finds posts as me saying “Buy this!,” you’ve got it all wrong. While I don’t have the desire or the funds to buy everything I find that’s cute, from the survey data I’ve collected over the years, I know my readers have other shopping needs than just the items that I do end up buying, wearing, and photographing for the blog.
