What I Wore Last Week

Happy Monday, friends! Only two outfits to share from this past week, but they’re two that I absolutely love! I’m sharing what I wore to Music Matters, a black-tie benefit, as well as a comedy show at Second City.

I am obsessed with this new skirt that I just added to my wardrobe! Be prepared to see in on repeat this spring, summer, and probably fall, too. 😂 I’m wearing a Small and the fit is perfect.

I had rented a dress for the event and ended up not loving the way it fit me when it arrived in the mail, so on Friday night I went in to the Rent the Runway store in Chicago for a last minute switch-out. There wasn’t much in my size to choose from so somehow I was able to squeeze into this size 2. I’m usually a size 4 or 6, so it was definitely tight in the shoulders, but if you order this dress for any upcoming events, I’d size down if you’re in between sizes.

Sizing notes aside, I WAS IN LOVE WITH THIS DRESS! And so sad to return it yesterday. It’s so much better in person, photos do not do it justice. Especially the website photos! It was a fun change of pace to be able to wear a white-based dress since I wasn’t attending a wedding or shower. So if you have any spring or summer galas, this dress would be perfect! I also think it would be so fun for a shower if you’re a bride-to-be.

I styled it with pops of pink because that’s what I had in my closet on such short notice, but I think it would be GORGEOUS if you did an all-lavender look. (I linked some pretty purple shoes accessories in the widget below!) I also think pops of light orange would be stunning! Or even yellow or a turquoisey-green would be pretty. Endless options, but I would definitely recommend playing with color instead of sticking with nude accessories.

Hope you have a great week! xoxo jrs
