Friday Finds || Vol. 3, Week 10

Bows & Sequins styling an Old Navy sundress with a Janessa Leone hat in Chicago.

What. A. Week. For starters, No, I did not get my site re-designed. I feel like I need to have one of those remodeling signs, “Please pardon our appearance.” There was some backend update that broke my site and my developers are currently unable to fix it so unfortunately, we’re just going to have to roll with this shitty design / layout / functionality for a bit until I can figure it out. Mercury is in retrograde, y’all. Beware.

I don’t know if this is good timing or bad timing with the blog situation, but I’m actually headed to India tomorrow for the wedding of two of my best friends from college! So crazy that the day is finally here. (They started dating when we were in college and we’ve all known for years that a trip to India would one day be in our futures!) I am so excited to soak it all in over the next week! I’d highly recommend following along on Instagram Stories, I know it’s going to be an incredible few days of festivities.

I got to go to a few different fun blog events this week… On Monday, I was at The Peninsula for their Subtle Energies launch. Subtle Energies a family-owned business out of Australia that specializes in Ayurvedic Aromatherapy. On Wednesday morning, David’s Tea (one of my faves!) had an event at Chill (another one of my faves!) to launch their new Matcha line. I used to work a few blocks from their store on the UES in New York and my co-worker, Jackie, and I used to go to David’s multiple times a week. We were #superfans, so it was fun to get to connect with a brand that I’ve loved for so long! And then on Wednesday night, I swung by the new Allbirds store on Armitage in Lincoln Park for their opening party. I feel like I’m the only person on Earth that hasn’t tried Allbirds yet, but I’ve heard such great things!

My old co-worker’s ears must have been ringing that I mentioned her that morning and later that day we were texting and she booked a ticket to come visit me in April!! I haven’t seen her for almost two years so I am beyond excited for that. That news was the perfect pick-me-up in the middle of a crazy week.

Between the podcast launch, multiple events, and trying to get ready to go to India, it’s been a whirlwind!! I’m still planning to have blog content up this coming week so be sure to check back. And Tuesday’s podcast episode is already scheduled so be on the lookout for that, too! And if you want even more, find me on Patreon! haha

Send some good vibes my way that my website is able to get fixed sooner rather than later! xoxo jrs

Here are this week’s finds…

Here are a few things I reallyy want for spring/summer… This Alidia ring is SO CHIC! I’m obsessed with this headband set! And this sunglass chain is so fun, especially for music festivals and concerts.

I am OBSESSED with this dress and it’s currently 30% off making it under $100! No matter if you choose the white, the navy, or the light blue, you’ll be wearing this all spring and summer long. Layer it with denim jackets, leather jackets, sneakers, espadrille wedges, lace-up sandals, heels, a straw hat, a baseball cap, you name it. Styling options are endless and it looks like one of those pieces that’s effortlessly chic!

I picked up a few things at Vineyard Vines this week for my trip to India… I figured I’d share them here first! These seersucker high-waisted cropped pants fit SO WELL — you know I’m not normally a pants person, but the manager suggested I try them on and I loved them! I also got this black scalloped tank (perfect with white jeans!), this black and white gingham dress (the longer hemline is perfect for work or a more conservative setting!), this printed wrap dressย (it’s not too short!), and this gorgeous printed maxi (again, obsessed with the way this one fits!).

I also tried on this dress and FELL IN LOVE WITH IT!!! It’s seriously THE CUTEST, but it was a little too short on me for what I felt comfortable with for India unfortunately. If you have any warm-weather trips or just want to grab it for the summer season, you will not regret it.

If you’re looking to splurge, these matte black slides are so chic. Poolside, the beach, or just weekend coffee runs!

Dyinggggg for these sleek leggings!!

I’m also going to need this gingham headband in both navy and pink!
