Everyday Sparkle

I feel like there’s always so much glitz and glamour leading up to the holidays… We’re never afraid to pull out our sequins and shimmery pieces. But truth be told, I think it’s these dreary winter months in January and February where we really need that extra dose of sparkle!

I saw this headband on Grace on Instagram when I was in South America and I knew I needed it. It was an insane Zara find (and only $20) so I ordered it and shipped it to my mailbox, fully knowing I would be past the return window when I actually got home to try it out. A risk I was willing to take as it was pretty cheap!

I love me a headband, but I’ve never really worn any type of turban, especially a bedazzled one, but something about it just seemed so fresh and fun.

I styled it with a casual boxy sweater, skinny jeans, and pointed-toe pumps for one of my guy friend’s going away parties last month! I will say, it was a little bit harder to style than I thought, and it was more so the color than the style. It didn’t quite go with most of my neutral sweaters in black, gray, and cream, but I found it paired best with jewel-toned hues like green, burnt orange, navy, dark purple, deep red, etc.

I feel like I may have gotten some looks by wearing this out on a random Thursday night, but 🤷🏼‍♀️ oh well. It’s fun and I like it! Maybe people were just staring because it was sparkly… I tend to be a human magpie, as well. 😉

I get so many questions and compliments on this coat when I wear it, and sadly, its a sale find from a few years ago when I was in Paris. I may or may not have bought *two* coats at her store Le Marais and wore them both on the plane on the way home. You do what ya gotta do… 😂

This one from Banana Republic is almost identical, but is sadly almost sold out. However, this one from Mango is an amazing price and looks pretty similar when belted, too! This one from Nordstrom is another great similar style, as well.

Since this turban-style headband is sold out as I bought it back in October or so, I found some similar pieces to achieve the same look! I’m all about an embellished hair accessory right now… Especially with pearls! So even if sequins aren’t your thing, check some of these out…

I am LUST-ING over a Lele Sadoughi headband right now… She’s one of my favorite jewelry designers and she just killed it with the hair accessories.

But if you’re a girl on a budget or don’t want to spend as much on a trendy piece to make sure you like the style first, this one from Nordstrom is a fraction of the price!

I neeeeeed a set of these pearl hair clips.

I also think this sequin leopard-print turban is superrrr fun!

That’s the cutest way to incorporate some sequins into your look!! I love how low-key it is.
