Friday Finds || Vol. 3, Week 7

Happy, happy Friday! This week feels like it flew by and was a year long at the same time. I was pretty much just at my computer on Monday and Tuesday. Wednesday was a busy one — Went to Daybreaker in the morning (where I took the above photo!), and then had a few friends over for breakfast and coffee before starting work. And I ended up going to the live podcast with Girls Gotta Eat at Thalia Hall with my friend, Kate that night. So fun! Speaking of podcasts, I recorded an episode with one of my girlfriends on Wednesday afternoon and I’ve finally given myself the deadline of March 1st to launch. I’m saying it here so you hold me to it!

Hope you have a great weekend, friends! I literally have *nothing* on my calendar on Saturday and Sunday and I’m so looking forward to it. xoxo

Here are this week’s finds…

Here’s a link to the TED Talk I watched this week… The Art of Asking. I’m trying to be better about asking, both personally and professionally… Asking for help when I need it and asking for something that I want. I’ve been working on pitching myself lately, too, because it’s probably my biggest downfall. The speaker, Amanda Palmer, also has a book by the same name, and I saw that the foreword is by Brene Brown, who is one of my all-time favorites. Have you read it?! Would love your thoughts!

And speaking of asking! I do actually need your help. 😌 I applied to be part of the #SephoraSquad and it would be an absolute dream to work with Sephora on a long-term basis this year! You know I love all things skincare and am constantly sharing my makeup recs with you all, so I would GREATLY APPRECIATE if you could take a second and leave me a testimonial on this page! I answer so many of your beauty questions on the regular and it would mean the world if you could leave a little love note for me in order to improve my chances of working with Sephora. THANK YOU IN ADVANCE. LOVE YOU, MEAN IT. ❣️

And speaking of beauty, this instant exfoliating mask will forever and always be one of my favorites! It’s truly a 3-minute facial. It’s quite pricey, but a little does go a long way and I only use it once every week or two when I need a complete overhaul. (It’s great right after traveling on a plane, a trip, or a long weekend!)

Don’t miss J.Crew’s crazy sale this weekend!!

Ashley is just all around G-O-A-L-S. She’s definitely one of the people I respect the most in this crazy blogging industry, she’s so smart, her content is absolutely amazing, she’s body #goals for sure, but her style is just the best, too. I love her laid-back-but-still-dressed-up California vibe. And I’m LOVING these new little videos she’s doing! I seriously want to copy all four of these outfits ASAP.

If you’re in Chicago and looking for a new spot to check out, I grabbed a drink at Clutch in River North this week and the decor was super cute!

I loved this little peek into Liz’s kitchen. It’s so cute!!

I need to re-stock my texture spray and I’d be lying if I said I didn’t want to buy this one just for the fun sequin bottle.

How cute are these cards?!

How darling is this dusty coral suede jacket? I’m in love! It’s so, so perfect for spring. (I have this exact same jacket in a cognac color, as well as a dark red!)

Poolside Perfection.

In love with this white woven bag, it will be perfect for spring and summer!

I am obsessed with these pearl hair clips!

The Secret to Success is Who You Marry (No pressure or anything!)

Mackenzie’s photos of Boca Grande and Sanibel Island are stunning! I’ve never been to either place.

This post from Grace is a good one! I love her outfit, but I really love her thoughts on simplifying. (They might not be what you think!)

Jessica Sturdy wearing a striped romper at Hacienda in Sydney Australia

Remember this cute little striped romper that I got in Australia last year? I just found a very similar style under $40! Don’t be alarmed that it’s from Forever 21… It’s from their “contemporary” line, which I’ve actually had really good luck with in the past. While I absolutely believe in investing in quality pieces, there are times when you just want some fun, new pieces to mix in with all of your wardrobe staples.

On the same token, I am LOVING this scalloped v-neck cami! Not only is the color combination perfect, but I feel like it’s great for wearing under jackets now, and on it’s own with shorts, skirts, and white jeans this summer. (Spoiler Alert: It’s $18!)

BaubleBar is having a huuuuge sale! I have these floral earrings and love them, and I actually lost one of these when I wore them a few weeks ago — blaming it on the scarf and hood situation. Here are some more favorites…

And you guys know I’m all about little inexpensive bags that make a statement! When it makes sense, I’ll invest in a nice, versatile bag that I’ll wear for years and years to come. But when it comes to fun, trendy bags, I really don’t see the point in spending extra money if you don’t have to! I’ve been loving the look of those clear bags all over Instagram, and I just found two options that are SO CUTE, and under $25! Check out this clear and blush pink version, as well as this striped one. I also think this knotted tote, and this little wicker clutch are adorbs, too.

I don’t know how I missed this insane J.Crew coat, but if you’re looking for a statement-making cozy teddy coat, this one is 40% off right now! The navy, olive, and cream color combo is too good.

You now I *love* my fuzzy criss-cross slippers (I’m never not wearing them when I’m home) and this “summer berry” color is so pretty for fun and summer! Mine are just black, but these are too fun.
