Feelin’ fancy on this fine Monday morning! I got to go to such an incredible wedding this past weekend… A friend of ours from college got married on Saturday and it was a 500+ person celebration at Chicago’s Field Museum. Needless to say, it was pretty spectacular!
Quick side note: What I Wore Last Week will be coming back soon. Hopefully next week! Truth be told, there have been a whole lot of things happening behind the scenes these last few weeks and I’ve been all over the place. There really haven’t been any #OOTDs to share. I can’t wait to ‘come clean’ with you all… soon, very soon.
But back to this past weekend… To be honest, I was kind of intimidated shopping for such a big event! So naturally, Nordstrom was where I headed first. This fun, floral dress caught my eye and I thought it would be perfect for the occasion! The fit and flare silhouette is always my favorite, and I love how the asymmetrical floral pattern uses just the right amount of color. The shape of the dress was really fun, too… The perfect high-low to show off your shoes and just the right amount of volume that wasn’t overwhelming to wear. (read: I had no problems staying on the dance floor until 2am 😂)
PS: I also love the colors of this similar dress, too! The darker blue is so pretty, but the hemline isn’t as noteworthy as the dress I’m wearing.
I met Melissa at the Field Museum during the day last week in an effort to get some pretty photos while avoiding the weekend crowds! A+ for planning ahead, A+ with avoiding tourists and getting really gerat shots, but C- for delivery timing. If you check out this Instagram, you’ll see that I actually ended up switching up my accessories by the time Saturday rolled around! I had ordered these blush pink shoes and this pink clutch online, but they hadn’t arrived in time to style them for my session with Melissa. (A few hours after we wrapped up, naturally.)
I like the dress styled both ways, but I think the pink accessories on the day of might have been my favorite! What are your thoughts?!

So pretty, Jessica!! Sure you were the belle of the ball behind the bride. And A+ on the pics…the color scheme intentional or not is spot on with the blue of Lake Michigan, the skyline & museum banners. Well done!
You look so beautiful in our Daffodil earrings!

The dress you picked is perfect for almost any formal summer occasion. Perfect party dress. And those nude heels are amazing too. I have a wedding to go to in October and I can’t wait to break out a new stylish dress.
Your dress is a dream!

Which do you prefer the citizens rockets in waverly or glory
So weird question but what bra did you wear with this dress because I bought it for a wedding (thank you btw!) but I’m having trOuble finding a bra that won’t show
It’s hard to remember, but it would have been one of my regular everyday bras (I have a few of this style: https://amzn.to/2IZgTaN) or my Nippies (https://amzn.to/2RmfhLZ)!
