Friday Finds || Vol. 2, Week 16

Jessica Sturdy spring trip to Japan during sakura cherry blossom season.

Greetings from Tokyo! Hope you’re enjoying your weekend, friends. Apologies this post is going up a day or two late, I’m all out of sorts on the day of the week since Japan is 14 hours ahead of Chicago. And to make matters worse, I’ve been SUPER sick since I’ve been in Japan. Not trying to be a Debbie Downer, but this is undoubtedly the most sick I’ve ever been while traveling. I thought I was catching a little Coachella cold last Sunday and Monday, but it’s proceeded to get worse each day. If I had to guess, I think I have some sort of sinus infection mixed with an upper respiratory infection… Let’s just say the 13 hour flight here was not pretty. I kept thinking some Vitamin C and sleep would do me right, but I keep waking up even more sick than the previous day. The worst congestion, sinus pressure, cough, fatigue… It’s been kind of a struggle, to say the least. We’ve still be out and about exploring and I’ve definitely been trying to make the best of it! Saturday morning we FINALLY found an English-speaking pharmacy that understood the word “sinus” so I believe I got a decongestant and an anti-inflamatory and I’ve thankfully been in a lot less pain the last two days. (Friday night and early Saturday morning were THE WORST. All of the pressure from my cheeks and forehead somehow went to my left ear and I had the most terrible aching pain in and behind my ear. There were tears and I would have flown home had I not been scared my eardrum would actually rupture during the flight.) Here’s to hoping its working it’s way out of my system! To be honest, I’m really only feeling about 60% still, but it’s actually manageable since it doesn’t hurt like it did. I still feel like I’m hearing underwater (both ears feel blocked now) and can’t really breathe out of my nose, or smell (or taste) anything, but we’ve been sticking to our itinerary and seeing all of the sights we intended to. Send some healthy vibes my way, will ya?! And extra tissues because I’ve already gone through two boxes at our AirBNB and the 12 pocket packs I brought with me.

Here are this week’s finds…

Sézane (my favorite French brand) is now available at Nordstrom! Best. News. Ever. Here’s what I’ve got my eyes on…

You’re a Pink Starburst (One of my college besties may or may not have worked on this campaign… So cool! You can read more about it here.)

This airstream looks like a total DREAM!

My hair colorist just recommended that I get this leave-in treatment!

Speaking of hair products, I’ve been loving this pre-shampoo treatment. I’m about to run out!

I’ve been wanting to try a lot of the Drunk Elephant products (I’ve only tried one moisturizer!) so I’m thinking this mini set of 4 would be a great place to start.

I recently ran out of my Sunday Riley night oil, need to stock up while Sephora’s still running their 15% off promo! That ends Monday, btw. (I’m also considering trying this oil or this oil instead… Decisions, decisions.)

On that note, you can find some of my beauty favorites in these posts: What’s In My Medicine Cabinet, My Favorite Beauty Buys, A Few Favorite Natural Skincare Products, All About Face Masks, and The Best Eyebrow Products

I’m absolutely loving the new Gal Meets Glam dress collection! Here are my favorites…

Lastly, I need a new hair straightener! My CHI went out on me in Australia and I keep forgetting to replace it. Any recommendations?! I haven’t bought one since college and am not sure where to start. Bonus points if you’ve used it internationally without a problem!
