Spring always seems to be the season where travel picks up for me! I was home for a mere 36 hours between California for Coachella and heading to Japan today. (I’m currently writing this from 35,000 feet so I’m either still in the air or have landed in Japan by the time you’re reading this!)
I’ll be in Japan for the next two weeks (16 days, I think!) and I’m having major anxiety thinking about how it will already be MAY by the time I get back. Where has this spring gone?! Oh that’s right, we haven’t had spring, just the longest winter ever.
Much like my last trip to Japan (in November of 2016), I’m meeting my friend Merritt in Tokyo! Last trip, we stayed in Tokyo and Kyoto and took a lot of day trips to smaller Japanese towns. (And then flew to Hong Kong for a few days!) This time around, we’ll be staying in Tokyo and Kyoto again (in different neighborhoods) and also in Osaka, with a handful of new-to-us day trips and adventures sprinkled in.
We were so lucky to see all of the autumn foliage in it’s peak state last time and I’m crossing my fingers we’ll get a large dose of cherry blossoms while we’re there this year! (I heard the cherry blossom season came a little bit early this year… Hopefully some are still hanging on!)
*And to think barely a single flower has bloomed yet in Chicago… 🙄 Alright, I’ll stop complaining about the Chicago weather, but this past winter has more than sealed the deal of me either a) moving, or b) becoming a snowbird. I’ve hit my max with the cold weather. ✌🏼
Anyway, be sure to follow along over on Instagram for real-time updates from the trip! I can’t wait to share more.
