An Easy Summer Drink: Spiked Radlers

Bows & Sequins sharing an easy cocktail recipe for entertaining this summer. Stiegl Radler grapefruit beer mixed with vodka

It’s Thursday afternoon, which means it’s officially time for happy hour! By the time you’re reading this, I’ll already be at Lollapalooza here in Chicago. (Be sure to follow along on Instagram stories for real-time snaps from the festival… I’ll be posting my outfits on Instagram, too!) When I hosted a little pregame before the Mamby on the Beach music festival a few weeks ago, I whipped up one of my favorite easy cocktails in the summer time… Spiked Stiegl Radlers!

Bows & Sequins sharing an easy cocktail recipe: Stiegl Radler grapefruit shandy spiked with vodka.

Stiegl Radlers are good by themselves, but I think they’re better as a mixer for a cocktail. It’s a super fruity (and sugary) beer… It’s simply 40% beer mixed with 60% grapefruit soda, so it’s not all that strong and can be hard to drink if you’re not one for sweet drinks. Enter: vodka. In my opinion, it’s so much better spiked with a little bit of Tito’s! Emphasis on the little bit, though… It can be dangerous because the beer totally masks the taste of vodka. Don’t say I didn’t warn you!

2020 Update: I don’t drink much vodka these days, as I’m way more of a tequila fan. Happy to report that these are even better with a shot of tequila!

Whip one up by the pool this weekend and thank me later!

This is not at all sponsored by any of the brands mentioned above, just sharing one of my favorite summertime drinks with you in time for the weekend!

PS: Dress is from Sail to Sable last summer!
