Weekend Sales Update

Bows & Sequins styling a monochromatic black, grey and white outfit during the winter. You *can* pull off white jeans when there's snow on the ground.

I took a little poll on Snapchat this week and the results were about 50/50… All of my ladies up north and throughout the midwest are still looking for winter outfit inspiration. It’s that time of year where our closets start to feel EXTREMELY boring! And all of my gals in the more southern states are ready to lighten up their looks for spring. What are you looking for on the blog right now, on the fashion front?! Feel free to weigh in your thoughts in the comments below!

For my cold-climate girls, now is the time to stock up on timeless winter staples because everything is on sale. Last year when I was in Paris in March, I bought two coats when I was in Paris and Hallie was like, “Really? Two winter coats in the spring??” But it was such a treat when winter started this year… They were essentially new and I didn’t have to do that scramble in November when the temperatures dropped down.ย Considering it’s only January, you’ll still get some use out of the pieces now and next year, too.

Coats are truly the best things to buy right now! Club Monaco has an extra 50% off sale this weekend (no code needed) and J.Crew is 40% off sale (with code shopsale) … Both retailers always have great outerwear options that last for years!

Here are some of my favorites…

Shoes are another category worth browsing the sales for! I wear my heels, flats, boots, and booties year after year until I wear them out. Trends in toe shapes and heel heights don’t typically change fast enough that one year will make a difference in making a shoe feel outdated!

Here are some of my favorites…

Vests are another great option because you can layer them now and totally transition them well into spring and summer!

A few faves…

I love reading your blog every day and look to you for fashion inspiration in my own wardrobe. I would really love to see more work wear looks though as that particular fashion category eats up 5/7 days of my week. <3

      Hi Rebekah,

Thanks so much for taking the time to comment! I totally understand your need for work wear looks. I only like to feature outfits that I truly wear on the blog, versus just styling outfits and essentially playing dress up, if that makes sense? Since I work from home, I don’t have a need for work wear looks as much as I used to when I was working full-time at my 9-to-5. I’ll definitely try to incorporate a few more work appropriate looks moving forward! What type of office environment do you work in? What types of work looks are you looking for the most?

Also, my friend Mary posts a lot of work wear looks! You should definitely check out her blog, too: http://www.memorandum.com

        Hi Jessica,
I am an avid reader of Mary’s blog and absolutely love her style! I work in corporate healthcare which means a relatively conservative style wardrobe. That being said, in order to spice it up I try my best to put a fun spin on business attire. Thank you for responding back, it is truly appreciated. ๐Ÿ™‚
