Beauty Buff // Vol. 3: Shiseido Ultimune

Bows & Sequins Beauty Review: Shiseido Ultimune Eye Power Infusing Eye Concentrate

Eye creams and eye serums have always been one of my most sought-after beauty products. I’m constantly trying new products to find what works best for that delicate under-eye area. Chalk it up to not enough sleep, but I’m battling dark circles and bags every single day. I’m consistently getting better with the sleep thing (most weeks!), but dark circles linger and I’m starting to see more fine lines as I get older. Oh, the joys of growing up!

To date, most of my eye products have been more geared towards moisture (remember this post?) and dark circles. But I realized I should probably start trying to slow the progress of these fine lines sooner rather than later!

Shiseido sent me one of their newer eye products on the market to try out… Shiseido Ultimune Eye Power Infusing Eye Concentrate. I’m always up for experimenting so I happily introduced this highly-rated product into my daily routine!

I’ve tried a few somewhat similar eye serums in the past and felt like they were far too ‘thin’ and a bit too oily for daytime wear. You’d definitely have to layer your eye cream on top of the serum and honestly, that’s an extra step I’m not always keen on taking. I love how this concentrate is a little bit more creamy… It’s almost like a two-in-one. You can most certainly layer your eye cream on top of this concentrate, but I’ve found that I only want that at night. For daytime, I’ve been applying this in place of my eye cream and my eye area feels just as moisturized and hydrated, if not moreso!

I’ve been using the product for about three weeks now (sometimes just at night, sometimes morning and night, sometimes layered under eye cream, sometimes on it’s own), and I’ve definitely seen a difference in how smooth my under-eye area is. I actually feel like Ultimune Eye moisturizes more than my moisture-only eye products in the long run!

Also worth noting: the bottle is under 3.4 fl oz so you can easily travel with it! Always something that I’m on the lookout for. I took it with me in my carryon to LA and to Las Vegas last week!

When my under-eye skin is truly hydrated, I can always tell because my makeup and under-eye concealer goes on so much better! It’s a little trick that always lets me know if my products are actually sinking in, or just sitting on the surface.

Great post! Thank you for reviewing these products! I’m using La Mer’s eye cream at the moment & I have to say it is amazing when it comes to dark circles – my eyes have never looked better! This looks like a relatively inexpensive alternative though!
