April showers bring May flowers, but the rain definitely didn’t stop once May rolled around. It’s been a bit of a wet month here in Chicago, and unfortunately it seems like there are a lot of storms ahead before we finally settle into summer. Hunters on repeat!
Remember the farmers market I told you about this past fall? It’s back open for the season! In an effort to avoid the crowds on the weekends, Wednesday mornings at the market are my j-a-m. There are crepes, breakfast pizzas, and more to satisfy any and all breakfast cravings, but I love picking up some produce for the week, as well as some fresh flowers. I’m not much of a morning person, but somehow I have no problem getting out of bed early on Wednesday mornings to make the trip to Lincoln Park. Funny how that works, isn’t it? 😉
It’s such a fun way to start the day, and it always makes me feel extra productive! Plus, it’s so nice to get some fresh air right from the get-go in the morning. I mentioned this last summer, but one of my favorite things to do (and something that immensely impacts my productivity, mood, and overall day!) is going for a walk in the morning. Since I work from home and don’t have a commute to an office, it’s so easy to fall into the trap of going straight from my bed to my desk, after a little pit stop in the kitchen. You can’t beat getting out of the house, getting some steps in, and getting some fresh air before coming home to settle into the day. Admittedly, I fell out of this routine over the winter, but I’m eager to start it back up now that the weather is getting nice! I tend to find some sort of lame excuse about not having time to go for a walk, but I’m working on it, even if it’s just a quick walk around the block. At least I’m starting my Wednesdays on the right foot, rain or shine!

So fun! I agree that getting up and getting moving in the morning is the best way to start the day. Plus, farmer’s markets are the best! Your post is getting me excited for the markets to open up here in Boston!

I only wish we had more farmer’s markets in our area. We have a few small ones that pop up this time of year but there’s not much variety and I just want more 🙂

I am obsessed with this navy trench! It’s very classic looking and I love how it can be dressed up or down. I also love your hair styled in these loose waves. So pretty.

I totally get you. It feels great when going out isn’t an obligation but something we want to do, more like a hobby. Taking a fresh air feels just great.
