Other than a few absolutely amazing performances — Beyonce & Jay-Z (we all know how I feel about it by now), Kendrick Lamar & Imagine Dragons, Mackelmore, and John Legend — I was really underwhelmed by the Grammys this year. The rest of the show kind of bored me… I mean, did they just forget the fashion this year? E! chose the 5 Best Dressed and I have to agree with their picks… These 5 ladies were my favorites, too.
Even if majority of the dresses were a snooze-fest this year, it’s still possible to draw some inspiration from a few of the frocks.
Katy Perry’s whimsical Valentino dress reminded me that I need to pull my ballerina skirt out again. Fashion Week, perhaps? I’m thinking of pairing it with something in the same blush color family for a head-to-toe look like Katy’s.
Ciara, Taylor Swift, and Chrissy Teigen all wore long embellished dresses on the red carpet. As you can imagine, I’m always a fan of excessive beading, sequins, and shimmer!
While Miranda Lambert’s dress was very simple, the classic red color and deep-V cut made it a standout style. Wearing a red dress definitely takes some confidence to pull off, but Valentine’s Day is just around the corner so it’s a great time to break out some bold color. If a dress feels too daring for you, start with a great red lip!
And last but certainly not least, I also really loved Beyonce’s dress. I mean, she obviously could do no wrong on Sunday. (The amount of times I’ve re-watched her performance is a little bit creepy.) Her all-white look was spot on and her makeup complimented her dress perfectly. Stunning!
All of my white dresses seem to be warm-weather only. Is it summer yet?
