New York Minute

Happy Monday! How was your weekend?! It was supposed to rain all weekend long in New York, but thankfully it held off besides a few minor sporadic showers. My Aunt Anne was staying with me this weekend and we had quite the jam-packed few days! As much as I cringe at touristy things, I always enjoy playing tour guide around the city.

On Friday we knocked out most of the dreaded Times Square activities — Dinner at Becco (which was delish!), Times Square and Rockefeller Center at night. We finished off the evening with Magnolia, which I can’t complain about!

Saturday was a marathon, but in a good way! — We biked the Central Park loop (I really need to do this more often!), went to the top of the Empire State Building (my first time, too!), visited the 9/11 Memorial for the first time, went to the Frying Pan for a bite to eat and an Easy Blonde, and then walked the High Line for a bit. Topped the night off with a Summer Solstice, which I highly recommend!

Sunday started with Soul Cycle (it was Anne’s first time!) and then we went to Peels for brunch with Hallie. It started to rain for a bit in the afternoon so we decided that would be a good time to go to the MoMa. Unfortunately, we weren’t able to go to the Rain Room, but I’m dying to check it out! (Only a few more weeks to see it, if you’re interested!) We ate an early dinner at Tacombi and stopped by Georgetown Cupcake for dessert before seeing The Internship. Tacombi is one of my favorite little spots.. perfect for a date, a girls dinner, or just a quick bite! At GT, we got one of the June cupcakes that you unfortunately won’t be able to try this month.. Chocolate Butterscotch Chip. SO GOOD. The Intership was entertaining, but I’m also obsessed/in love with Vince Vaughn (especially when he’s next to Owen Wilson) so I might be a little bit biased!

We also found the cutest Frenchie named Oliver on Houston Street. I was obsessed with him! And got quite jealous when he moved on to the next visitor on the street…

Thank goodness it’s a short week, I’m exhausted! 🙂

My one regret when I went to NYC over Christmas was that I didn’t get to go to Magnolia Bakery. I am just going to have to go back sometime but until then, I am going to have to live vicariously through you!

Looks like you had an action-packed weekend, literally! I’m impressed at all the things you got to do. I definitely need to do the bike riding through Central Park thing at some point.
