Black Bows & Booties

I chose this outfit for an Info Session (dress: Business Casual) here at school. I have to dress Business Casual for quite often for different events hosted by an organization I’m a part of and I absolutely hate looking too stiff and fitting into the mold of every other female business student (black dress pants, black flats, sweater or button-down shirt)- I think it’s boring.

I found this dress at Forever 21 in Times Square when I went to NYC in November. That particular Forever 21 store is by far the neatest one I’ve been to yet. I didn’t feel like I had to dig to find what I wanted- much more space to browse! I thought the dress would be perfect for “biz cas” events on campus. I absolutely love the color- beige with a blush tint. I scored this pair of black Sam Edelman suede peep-toe booties on the sale racks at Nordstrom for around $100, I was ecstatic. I first saw these booties back in July during Nordstrom’s Anniversary Sale, but figured I would hold off because I had practically bought the entire store already. Luckily, they still had them in my size 6 months later! I paired the dress and booties with black tights, a Milly bow belt, a black bow headband from Forever 21, my stainless steel Coach watch, my silver Tiffany ‘ball’ earrings, and a simple silver ring.

Like I said in my last post, I love pairing black with pale neutrals. I believe it tends to look classy and timeless.
