What I’ve Been Wearing Lately

Daily Outfits Chicago March

I really want to be publishing these ‘What I Wore’ posts on a weekly basis, but it just has not been happening. I had an assistant in-and-out of my apartment last summer when I launched this What I Wore series, so I had an extra set of hands around to snap a quick picture on my phone! Since I’ve been back in Chicago this year, the truth is I just don’t see people a lot of days, or at least not anyone I feel comfortable asking to take a picture. (Can you imagine, after a business meeting, “Hey, would you mind stepping outside snapping a photo of my outfit?” 😂 Not a chance. Same goes for whomever is at the coffee shop I’m at, etc.)

I’ve been trying to snap a mirror pic some days, but it’s totally backlit where my only full-length mirror sits. When I have the time, I’ve been sliding my mirror over in front of my door just to take a picture, but it’s just an added step before I get out the door.

I have the perfect spot in my living room for another floor length mirror, but I’ve been hesitant to buy any home decor, as I’ll most likely be moving at the end of my lease this summer. You never know what will work in your next space and I haven’t wanted to waste money on another mirror that may not fit at my next apartment. So we’ll see… I might just suck it up and buy one and hope for the best. Or I might just moved my mirror out of my bedroom (even though it’s perfect in there) and into the living room to better facilitate these posts.

Anyway, that’s a very long-winded explanation for why these posts haven’t been as frequent as I would have liked. However, you all express so much interest in these types of “real life” style posts, so I jut wanted to keep you in the loop! I hear you, and I’m workin’ on making them a regular thing again.

How to Pack Away Bigger Carry-On Luggage

What I Packed for India

I never meant for these photos to see the light of day, but when I’m packing for a trip, I always try everything on (amidst the packing tornado) and take a quick picture and save them to a folder on my phone. That way when I’m on the trip, I remember exactly what I have to work with and how I want to wear things. Trying everything on beforehand helps me to pack way less, too! I’m able to see how many times I’m wearing a certain pair of shoes, if it’s worth bringing them, etc.

When I was going through my phone to compile all of the outfits I documented over the last month, I found these and figured I’d share!

You need a good photographer. I can see you have a beautiful built but the picture doesn’t give you justice. I am a fan and also a fan of NotJessFashion, check her out. I am not promoting her but she had a post about boggers that you may use it as a reference.

Thanks for taking the time to leave a comment, LuAnn! I’m assuming you might be new around here, so I figured I’d explain this series at bit. You can read the full post here (https://bowsandsequins.com/2018/05/28/what-i-wore-last-week-1/), but the whole point of these “What I Wore Last Week” posts is to NOT use a photographer. These posts are all about #RealLife, and I’m pretty sure all of us don’t have a photographer following us around on the daily.

For all of my style posts shot with my professional photographer, just scope the “Style” category of my blog: https://bowsandsequins.com/category/style/
