Friday Finds || Vol. 2, Week 22

Best pasta in Chicago at Eataly's Ravioli & Co counter on the first floor.

You guyssssss! I hate to be one of those people that talks about “secret projects” (insert eye roll here), but seriously… I AM JUST SO EXCITED! I’ve been too excited to sleep this week… I lay wide awake at night brainstorming and I’ve been buzzing out of bed in the morning, eager to whittle away at my insanely long to-do list, and I must say, it feels really damn good. I haven’t felt this lit up by a project in a long, long time. (Maybe ever, to be honest!) Project isn’t even the right word… New business venture? Biggest thing I have ever and potentially will ever work on? I don’t know what to call it on the sly, but I promise I will spill the deets as soon as it’s more buttoned up.

But with all of that excitement and lack of sleep comes a whole lot of tiredness. I’m not complaining, I’ll happily take feeling tired along with feeling this passionate about something, but I guess there are always pros and cons. Really hoping I can catch some Zzzs this weekend! Girlfriend’s got some major dark circles happening over here. And I’ve also been spending, like, $15 a day at La Colombe. Oops, please send your condolences to my bank account! 😂

I did manage to squeeze a few fun things in this week, though! On Tuesday, I finally checked out Eataly in Chicago! Ummm… How had I not been yet in the three years I’ve lived here?! I used to go to the New York location all the time, but somehow this was my first trip in Chicago even though I’m within walking distance. While this visit was on the house, I can definitely tell you that it will NOT BE MY LAST TRIP THERE! Holy moly, I totally forgot how good their pasta was downstairs at Ravioli & Co. We each got a dish and the suggested wine pairing (yes, at lunch, during the week. Don’t judge!) and OMG, it honestly tasted like I was back in Italy. Every few weeks, I’ll get a pasta craving and order something from a restaurant for delivery, but nope, next time I’ll definitely be going back to Eataly. It was truly better than most Italian restaurants I’ve been to here and was pretty affordably priced (comparatively), too! I mean, I didn’t think I even liked cannolis and I finished my pistachio one in about 30 seconds and literally said “Holy shit that’s good” out loud. So there’s that! And no, I’m most certainly not getting paid to say this. I got a free meal and had no obligations to post anything about it. Trust me, it was GOOD AF.

On Wednesday night, I went to a Sound Healing workshop at Chill! I’ve done crystal bowl workshops before, but this was my first time with a gong. (If I’ve lost you in woo woo land, here’s the short story —  the gong is an ancient healing tool that regenerates the parasympathetic nervous system for an immediate release of tension. Apparently, the mathematical configuration of our DNA matches the mathematical configuration of the gong’s sound waves. Who knew!) It was really cool, I’d definitely do it again. I felt super relaxed afterwards!

And then on Thursday night, I did a Full Moon Meditation Workshop at Chill! Two nights in a row, haha. What can I say? I nerd out over this shit!

Hope you have a lovely weekend, my friends! xoxo JRS

Here are this week’s finds…

Loved listening to Candice Kumai’s new podcast, Wabi Sabi!

My assistant’s mom wrote a book! And it’s called The Universe F*cking Loves Me, so naturally, it sounds right up my alley. Can’t wait to get my hands on a copy! (It’s currently free on Kindle so scoop it up! I think? I’m not exactly sure how Kindles work, to be totally honest.)

Ummm… a monthly rosé club?! Please sign me up immediately!

I started working on another fun project this week… This might give you some hints. (!!!)

I got my first Winc box this week and I have to say I’m pretty impressed! Super fast shipping and the four bottles I got in my palette quiz seem right up my alley. (You can get 4 bottles for $40 with my link!)

Speaking of new business ventures, I was with Merritt in Japan when she had the brilliant idea to start A Detailed Destination! Having traveled abroad with her multiple times, I can attest to her detailed planning skills. She just launched her Japan itinerary, be sure to check that out hereIt’s a twelve day itinerary featuring all of our must-sees during our (almost) FIVE weeks in Japan in the last two years, plus lots of tips for traveling there, too.

Remember THE Old Navy sandals from a few summers ago?! I’m currently on my last pair (I bought like three of each color… 🙌🏼) and just found this identical pair. They’re currently 40% off, too, so they come out to be less than $20! Use code HAPPY

👆🏼 I’ve honestly worn them to the ground, especially for how cheap they are! Styled on the blog here, here, here, here, and here.

Found these Old Navy bow slides yesterday and I need to order them to try them ASAP!

How cute are these slides for the pool this summer?! Or these for July 4th?!

This is the last weekend to save in the Nordstrom Half-Yearly Sale! My scalloped sandals are marked down 40%, my crochet one piece is on sale, my yellow midi dress is 40% off, and my peplum top is on sale, too. I’m in love with this J.Crew dress that’s 50% off! I think these heels are SO FUN! And I think this striped dress is absolutely DARLING!

Crushing on this jumpsuit! (Also comes in white for you brides-to-be!)

How freaking cute is this straw tote?! I can’t decide if I like the black or navy better.
