Friday Finds || Vol. 2, Week 1

Bows & Sequins in front of the Chicago skyline along Lake Michigan.

Happy Friday, friends! I’ve spent the majority of this week equally parts overwhelmed and motivated. (You can read more about how I was putting a little too much pressure on myself here.) I’m all for fresh starts and kicking the year off on a high note, but it can definitely be an overwhelming feeling at times. I want to work out and get back in shape (but am still battling this damn flu aftermath…), I want to crank out a ton of great content for you on the blog, I want to keep bettering myself and adopting new habits, I want to travel and explore, I want to establish new routines… I want to do it ALL! I’m sure you can relate with your own set of to-do’s. But I guess that’s the beauty of life… Trying to strike that balance that honors your priorities and makes you feel good. As they say, you can’t have all burners on high at once!

Anyway, all of these sub-zero temperatures in Chicago have me ITCHING to get outta town. I’ve got a bachelorette party in Palm Springs at the end of the month, (hopefully!) a longer trip to a continent I’ve never been in February, and a wedding in Cabo in March. I’ve just got to make it through the next four weeks of bone-chilling cold, haha! All that catches my eye when I’ve been browsing online is warm-weather things… Sundresses, bathing suits, sandals, fun earrings, summery bags and clutches… Pretty sure that’s what you call wishful thinking. So hopefully you’ve got some warm-weather plans on the horizon, too, because today’s list of finds is essentially a resort round-up. 😂

Let’s get to it…

I’ve been lusting over this handbag for months… What’s your vote? Take the plunge or pass?

Calling all brides-to-be… This little white dress is under $100 and is perfect for bachelorette parties this year. (I, on the other hand, have the black version in my cart… 😂) I always find that I’m in-between sizes with WAYF… Sometimes I’m a small, sometimes I’m a medium. Since the dress has sleeves and I have broad shoulders, I decided to go with the medium. I hate when things feel tight up top!

YAAAS! One of my favorite items to buy every year just came out… The Diptyque limited edition candle! Rose is my favorite scent and each January they release a new spin on a rose fragrance in a pretty, limited edition jar. (You can check out all of the limited edition products here! This mini candle ($35) is a great option for trying out the scent, too.)

I re-read this blog post this week and it’s still one of my favorites… Taking some time for reflection is much-needed after the holidays to get back in touch with yourself!

I ordered this breezy blue and white dress… It’s so pretty and under $100, I couldn’t say no.

I can’t remember if I told you guys this or not, but I did order the Sonos One speaker with Amazon’s Alexa built in. The sound is SO good! (Sorry, neighbors.) Also, I don’t know if this is just in Chicago or what, but I was able to schedule the in-person delivery the very next day and get help with connecting the apps and figuring it all out. (For free!!)

My tartan plaid skirt is 40% off! 😱

How cute are these little satin bow slides? (Available in both black and pink!) I can’t decide if they look that comfortable or not…

I always love a good rickrack trim… This dress would be so cute with the bow sandals above!

I resonated with this blog post on a DEEP LEVEL. I highly, highly recommend adding this one to your reading list this weekend!

As I mentioned in this post, I’m doing my yearly reflections a little bit later than I’ve done in years past. I LOVE these 6 tips for reviewing a full year! Makes it a lot less daunting, yeah?

A nice cold-weather find for you… I’ve had this little (faux) fur bag on repeat since I got it in November. So cute for a ski trip or just a little flair for winter! I think the price is great, too, for the quality.

These glitter-heeled bow sandals are 50% off and under $125… I really, really want to order them! Especially in black and gold, they’re so classic and pretty much seasonless.

I’m going to need this big beach towel… #Salty

Hot pink faux fur… I’m tempted. #ExtraAF (It’s under $100!)

You know I love a good stripe… Especially when the color palette is blue and white with pops of orange. Check out these new arrivals from Milly! Perfect for my Illini ladies…

18+ Ways to Get Organized This Year

I’m lusting over this laptop sleeve! My current laptop sleeve is a thick, polka dot-covered Marc by Marc Jacobs case that I’ve literally had since college. 😂 It gets the job done, but it would be nice for an upgrade! It takes up way more space than it needs to… I really don’t need that much padding and it takes up too much room in my bag both when I’m traveling and en route to work from a cafe. Should have thought of this before I made my Christmas list, haha!

My skin has been so, so dry with these frigid temperatures. I’ve had my humidifier running 24/7, but I’ve been using La Mer or this sleeping mask every single night.

I love reading through other people’s goals… Helps to get the creative juices flowing when I’m thinking of what I’d like to implement in my own life! Grace’s list is great… Two great book recommendations! (Co-sign on the Mark Manson book… I recommended it on Instagram stories a while back!) And I just added the other one to my Amazon cart.

I also enjoyed Jess’s list of goals… Choosing a word for the year is a cool idea!

Don’t miss out on this navy gingham clutch on sale for $113!
