Friday Finds || Week 44

Bows & Sequins wearing a casual outfit for Thanksgiving: a striped, mockneck sweater, dark denim, a simple pendant necklace, a navy blue Kate Spade bag, and a quilted Barbour jacket.

What a week, you guys! If I had to pick one word to describe my week, it would be ‘electric.’ Lots of good energy all around! The creative juices were just flowing and I’m so excited for all that’s to come over the next few months on the blog front. So, so excited. This week was such a welcome reminder of how necessary it is to stop and slow down once and a while! It’s amazing how eating right and exercising often can impact not only our bodies, but our states of mind, too. Stay tuned on Monday, I’ve got a whole post coming your way about my new morning routine and I swear to you, it’s a game changer. It’s truly the little things that make all the difference!

What else happened this week? My dad is a Dodgers fan, but I was so happy for the city of Houston after all that they’ve been through this year. (And it was their first time winning a world series, which us Cubs fans can relate to on a deep level!) In other news, I tried boxing for the first time yesterday and oh my gosh, it was SO FUN. So, so fun. I’m definitely going to make it a part of my weekly routine! (On a bit of a side note, it’s felt *SO* good to be back in my workout groove. Lots of fitness-centric posts to look forward to!)

We tried to go to a new wine bar in the West Loop last night, The Press Room. Unfortunately it was closed, so we went to Moneygun for a few glasses of wine. I love the vibes there… Super low-key and cozy, but they play hip hop and rap. Perfect for an impromptu girls night!

A little bit of some newness on the blog… On Sunday, I’ll be launching a new Q&A series for the holiday season! You’re more than welcome to ask me anything, but I know once the holiday season arrives, people tend to have more questions around gifting, special occasion dressing, etc. “What’s the perfect gift for Aunt Susie under $50? She loves to bake!” or “Help! I just started dating this guy a few weeks ago and he invited me to his holiday party at work. What should I wear?!” “I’ll be in Aspen for NYE… Any thoughts on what to wear in a ski town?!” Feel free to comment on the blog with your question(s) or send an email to [email protected] with Q&A in the subject! FYI: It will be your discretion if you’d like your information posted… First name and/or city or totally anonymous… It’s up to you! The Q&As will go live every Sunday through the end of the year so keep your eyes out for those. 🙂

Alright, Chatty Cathy over here will let you get to this week’s finds. Lots of links to love!

ThirdLove sent me this jogger set (in black) from their new lounge collection and I’ve literally been living in it since I got it. I’ve since ordered another one because I honestly missed it when I finally put it in the wash on Monday after wearing it Friday afternoon & evening, Saturday night, and all day Sunday. I have a small and it’s perfect… Slimming, but still nice and cozy. The cotton is super soft without being fleece-like… Not too stretchy, not too stiff. Honestly, the perfect set of PJs, I can’t recommend them enough! Plus, the set comes with a little pouch to keep the top and pants in, which makes it perfect for travel, especially on overnight flights. (Great for holiday gifting, too!)

I have a navy blue Kate Spade satchel that I got two years ago and I still get so many questions about it every time I use it, but unfortunately it sold out right away. However, I just saw this bag on the KS website and it looks pretty similar! I think this new style might be a little bit smaller, but it’s such a good looking little navy tote… Had to share!

Big thanks to Kristin who emailed me about THE J.Crew Nordic Boots that are back in stock this year! (Speaking of snow boots, I’m still SO IN LOVE with these. Too bad they’re $700.)

One of my most requested posts has been to do a packing tutorial about how I fit everything into a carry-on for most trips! Check out these tips from the Gray Malin team… most of which I use myself!

I literally gasped when I opened Mackenzie & Will’s wedding invitation… It’s hands-down the most beautiful invite I’ve ever received! I loved reading about the process and sentimental meaning behind it all… Mackenzie’s attention to detail is unbelievable. (And seriously, just wait until you see photos from the wedding. You. Will. Die.)

Crushing on these embellished star loafers! These criss-cross slip-ons with a pearl buckle are darling, too.

You guys, I now have a monogrammed (faux) fur coat and it’s nothing short of everything. Statement piece that I’ll for sure pass down to future generations! (Pictures coming soon!)

Can’t get over how chic this tie-neck blouse is! Under $100 and a great work wear staple.

How fun is this ribbed beanie with a fur pom-pom? The best part, it’s under $40! (These hats are usually closer to $100!) It’s available in four colors… cream, gray, flame, and black.

How freaking cute is this sherpa jacket with bows?! This one is a little bit more affordable, though.

OH. MY. GOSH. Kate Spade + French Bulldogs. Can’t handle the cuteness! There’s a tee, a scarf, and a watch with my name on them.

I saw this rose bowl and was taken back to the time I actually DIY’d something. 2011 me must have been more crafty!

I love the look of velvet headbands & hair bows for holiday parties this year!

Speaking of hair accessories, I love the look of this metal ponytail holder, too!

Christopher Bailey is leaving Burberry.

This pin and this hair bow both look like Gucci, but they’re only $29 & $15.

Merritt’s house is oh so charming!

Now that we’re wearing boots and booties on the regular, it’s officially trouser sock season. I love this set of 3… leopard, glitter, and roses. (These are a few of my favorite things… 🎶)

Crushing on these burgundy velvet sneakers with ribbon laces! $88 and so fitting for the next few months…

Can’t get enough of this peacoat with gold buttons! Which color is your fave? I obviously love navy and white, but the bright red just might be my favorite!

This scuba jacket looks insanely comfortable for going to-and-from a workout!

Oh my gosh, how friggen fab is this faux fur bag in pink?! (Also available in black and a neutral hue.)
