How to Wear a Plaid Skirt to Work

Happy Monday! I had such an amazing long weekend in California celebrating two friends getting married. From the welcome party on Thursday night, wedding festivities on Friday, and pool party on Saturday, it was such a fun few days with the best people. I majorly unplugged, which was much-needed… Didn’t really touch my phone or computer all weekend! While I wish I would have taken more pictures, it was so nice to just be in the moment. But today, it’s back to work! (And chugging coffee and water.)

Unfortunately, this top is from Sรฉzane this past fall, but you can see how I last styled it here! Fortunately, there’s a very similar style available now.

I wore these earrings twice over the weekend and got so many compliments on them! The rose gold color goes with just about everything and I know I’ll be wearing them non-stop the rest of the summer and during the fall, too. Sadly, they’ve already sold out, but there are quite a few similar pairs below!

Sรฉzane Lace Top (old; similar here!)
Halogen Plaid Skirt (on sale for $45!)
J.Crew Navy Mary Janes (old; similar here & here)
Nat & Nin Leather Bag
BaubleBar Earrings (on sale!)
Celine Sunglasses (similar here for less!)

The coloring of these photos make this skirt look almost black, but it’s actually a very true blue color! (Just like it looks online.) It’s on sale for $45 and such a versatile piece to wear now and well into the fall. A note on sizing: definitely size down! It runs really big, I’m wearing a size 2 and I’m usually a 4/6.

Since the color palette is very classic and not your typical fall plaid, you can definitely get away with wearing it now. Can’t go wrong with red, white, and blue in the summer months! Be sure to check back this afternoon, as I’ll be sharing a way to wear it on the weekend, too.

Super cute! I always think plaid is hard to pull off without looking like a school girl, but I think you did a really good job at it!

Very elegant look. You are very classic. I love it. I would totally wear this look for my job at my law firm or at court.

Swooning over that bag, and drowning sorrows that the Pardon my French tee you’ve paired with that skirt before is sold out. All great looks!
