The 10 Best Budget-Friendly Brands

Fashion blogger Bows & Sequins wearing a white lace J.O.A. dress, an Old Navy straw hat, and holding a striped Mar y Sol tote.

I got great feedback from this post, so I figured I’d share ten of my favorite brands that are my budget-friendly go-to’s! A few of my favorite department stores and online retailers carry some of the same usually-under-$100 brands that have become my favorites for investing in trends without breaking the bank. While I do believe in investing in quality pieces you’ll have for years to come, it can be pretty challenging for blogging purposes. Whenever I wear old items that I’ve had for years and aren’t available anymore, I always try to find similar pieces to recreate the look. But without fail, I always have multiple people who are super bummed they can’t buy that exact piece. (That’s actually where the idea for my clothing line came from a few years ago!)

So I will say, I think my shopping habits are a little bit different than they would be if I didn’t have the blog. I think I would probably invest in a few $200-$300 dresses and wear the heck out of them over the spring and summer, but then I wouldn’t have a lot of new outfits to share with you guys. So I find myself gravitating towards more affordable styles that I can purchase more of and be able to share new outfits with you on the reg. On the other hand, I do get bored with clothes easily. I’m kind of a klutz (in terms of spilling stuff on my clothes) and I really do like to experiment with different trends, colors, silhouettes, etc. So I guess it all works out! 🙂

Here are my top ten…

JOA  |  Always lots of feminine tops and dresses, usually under $100! The quality is there, too. I have numerous pieces that I’ve worn over and over and over! (The white lace dress I’m wearing in the photo above is actually JOA from last spring/summer!)

Available at Nordstrom, Shopbop, & Revolve

Wayf  |  Lots of classic styles and some trendy pieces, too! Most tops are in the $60 range and dresses are usually around $100 or less.

Available at Nordstrom, Shopbop, Bloomingdale’s, Dillard’s

Gibson  |  Your go-to for affordable basics with a twist! Dress them up, dress them down, wear them to work, wear them out, you name it. Versatility is the name of the game with this one!

Available at Nordstrom

Leith  |  Lots of simple silhouettes that you can accessorize a lot of different ways! Most of the pieces are pretty feminine with a few unexpected ‘downtown’ details.

Available at Nordstrom

Clayton  |  Similar to the last two, but a little bit more expensive. (Most everything is still under $150!) Lots of formal styles, though, that can be worn to events and weddings!

Available at Shopbop, Revolve, Zappos

1.State  |  Clothes and shoes, too!

Available at Nordstrom, Revolve, Bloomingdale’s

Endless Rose  |  The perfect party dresses and great going out tops, too!

Available at Shopbop, Revolve, ASOS

Topshop  |  The Topshop website, much like the ASOS website, is a bit overwhelming to me. But Nordstrom always has a great selection of Topshop pieces so that’s where I tend to shop the brand! Lots of trendy pieces, and I love their shoes, too. The clothing sizing can be tricky, I almost always size up!

Cupcakes and Cashmere  |  Feminine meets California cool! Everything from work wear, weekend dresses, and even home decor.

Available at Revolve, Nordstrom, Shopbop

Chelsea 28  |  A lot of the dresses are over $100, but under $150! Lots of great dresses for weddings, separates for work, etc.

Available at Nordstrom

What did I miss?! What are some of your wallet-friendly go-to’s?!

    Love this post!

Would love to see something similar, but maybe a boutique based round-up?

Thanks Steph! Can you specify which types of boutiques you’re looking for that would be helpful? Are you thinking city-based? What type of price point, selection, etc? Would love to put together a round up!

        Thanks for the f/up questions.

I was thinking independent women’s clothing boutiques in and shops in Chicago (or anywhere you want to highlight). I would also love to read more about beauty, home decor, vintage and gifts/accessories spots too. Basically, anywhere to find unique and well curated selections.

        All price points welcome 🙂

You lost all credibility by linking to Cupcakes and Cashmere. You know it’s a poorly made, knock off BB Dakota line. Do better, girl.
