Iced Almond Milk Latte Recipe

One of the most popular post requests and questions I get… “How do you make your iced almond milk latte?!” Guys, I feel like I’m going to be letting you down on this one. It’s literally the most basic recipe. Basicest of basic. But I will say, I’ve been making it almost every morning for a few years and I guess I’ve picked upย some tips and tricks along the way.ย Happy Caffeinating, friends!

It’s no secret I’m obsessed with my Nespresso Vertuoline Evoluo machine. (You can see a few more of my coffee recipes here & here!) For the perfect iced almond milk latte, I start by makingย two of the dark purple pods in a glass. I actually double brew each pod, if that makes sense. I put one pod in, brew it, and then hit the brew button again once it’s finished. And then repeat the same for a second pod.

Now, I suppose you don’t have to wait, but I absolutely insist on letting the two shots of espresso cool in the refrigerator before I make my latte. This all depends on how much time I have, but anywhere from 15 minutes to an hour! If I know I’ll be racing out the door in the morning (for an early working class or something of the sort), I will actually make my espresso the night before and stick it in the refrigerator to make my latte in the AM. I think the cooling period is a major, major key!

Oops, back up. If you want to use a sweetener… I use two packets of steviaย andย put it in the glass in between the two pods. Once the espresso pods are done brewing, I stirย it up to mix it in and thenย stick it in the fridgeย cool. Now, I’m no scientist, but it dissolves much better into hot espresso and I swear there’s some sort of marination period while it cools.

Once your espresso + sweetener combo has cooled sufficiently, it’s time to add your almond milk! (Or really, any milk of your choice.) Like I mentioned in this post, I use Califia Farms Unsweetened Almond Milk. I actually don’t froth my cold milk (even though my aeroccino has the capability of doing that!), but I shake the sh*t out of it in the jug and it creates quite a nice foamy froth. Take a look at the photos for proof!

I pour in some of my shaken almond milk, add ice, and that’s it. Honestly, that’s it. I told you… SO BASIC. Literally the most uncomplicated recipe of all time, minus the whole hot and cold thing. ๐Ÿ˜‰

I make a similar recipe like this all the time! Tip: if I’m in a rush, I add my milk first into the glass first before I add the espresso! I find it greatly speeds up the cooling process ๐Ÿ™‚
