Where to Stay in Cabo

Bows & Sequins Hotel Review Paradisus Los Cabos Mexico

I had the pleasure of taking a quick little escape to Cabo a few weeks ago and it did not disappoint! It’s pretty remarkable what three short days in the sunshine near the water can do for your soul, isn’t it?! And it’s just a short four hour flight from Chicago! I’m already trying to find an excuse to go back…

I stayed at the newly renovated Paradisus Los Cabos and couldn’t have had a better time! Highly, highly, HIGHLY recommend if you’re headed to the Cabo area. (And if you aren’t, perhaps you should be…)

I was blown away by the decor at the hotel. (In addition to the food, staff, service, and entire property, but we’ll get to that…) Every little last decor detail was unbelievably chic, clean, and ahhh-inducing, if you will. Definitely not what comes to mind when you think of the typical all-inclusive hotel in Mexico, right?! I was taking all sorts of mental notes for future interior projects. And lots of photos, too! This post is quite picture heavy… Sorry, not sorry. Enjoy!

I’m a bit of a snob when it comes to beds (hey, sleep is important to me!) and OH MY GOODNESS MY BED DID NOT DISAPPOINT. The actual bed, the linens, the duvet, the pillows… So dang good, you guys. No joke, I probably talked about the bedding for a solid seven minutes at breakfast the morning after our first night. I slept like a baby, which actually hadn’t happened in months!

Oh, and that nice little credenza right there holds your own in-room Nespressoย machine, so I was pretty smitten. (Literally, my three hotel must-haves are bedding, Nespresso, and a rain-like shower-head. Paradisus Los Cabos has them all!) There’s also a packed refrigerator, a full snack bar, and a fully-stocked not-so-mini bar. Pick your poison… The beauty of an all-inclusive! 😉

I seriously love how everything is put away though. My room felt incredibly zen, which probably contributed to my amazing sleep and extreme sadness when I had to pack-up to go home after three quick days.

The view from my balcony did not disappoint either! A fantastic view of palm trees, the Sea of Cortez, and prime seats for the sunset, too.

I was blown away by the closet situation, too. What hotel has white lacquer shelving units?! Like, can I just move in already??

I’m definitely one of those people that prefers to unpack as soon as I get there and stow away my suitcase, but these shelves took it to a whole new level. I had space for everything to be beautifully merchandised and not thrown all over my room, like it typically is when I travel!

As you can probably tell, we shot A TON of photos while we were on the property… Lots and lots of warm-weather outfits to come over the next two weeks! (I brought my photographer, Melissa, along on the trip!)

The pool area was absolutely stunning! I dare you to walk by and not take a photo… It’s literally impossible. I’m certain I snapped a pic every time I passed!

So many chairs, swings, cabanas, and seats at the bar! Or you can swim up to the bar, whichever you prefer. Piรฑa colada, por favor!

Bows & Sequins Hotel Review: Paradisus Los Cabo Beach Review

The terrain in Cabo is so different than the Cancun-side of Mexico that I’ve been to previously, in the best way possible! Rocks meet the ocean, with the dessert on the other side… It’s incredible. The downside, though, is that there aren’t that many swimmable beaches in Cabo. However, the Paradisus has the largest swimmable beach in the area! Photos can’t even capture how massive it is… There’s a point where you can’t see the water and it looks more like an Egyptian desert than a beach in Mexico! 😂

And all of the seating areas, too!ย I swear I could do a blog post solely referencingย all of the different amazing chairs on the property.ย Desperately wanting to find a spot for one of these Mexican-inspired cord chairs in my apartment… I love them!

Bows & Sequins Hotel Review: Paradisus Los Cabos Food

Now, let’s chat about the food!ย After a few not-so-great food experiences with all-inclusives, I had just kind of settled with the idea that they weren’t for me. I didn’t go into this trip thinking I would love the food, but OMG you guys. I couldn’t have been proved more wrong than I was! We dined at every restaurant on the property and I can honestly say I didn’t have a bad meal.

From the fine-dining restaurant in the lobby (Gastro Bar, from Seven Star Michelin Chefย Martin Berasategui), to the Hibachi-style Asian cuisine at Bana that transported me back to Japan, to the authentic Mexican cuisine at Molรฉ… You can’t go wrong for dinner!

We ate lunch al fresco at Gabi and Terraza, and also opted for burgers by the pool one day, too. My mouth is watering just thinking about it!

La Palapa was my favorite for breakfast simply because it was outside, so relaxing, and the menu had lots of healthy options… We went twice! (Promise me you’ll ask for the steamed/frothed cream for your coffee… So good! The coffee itself was also very good, which I was honestly shocked by. 👏🏼ย #coffeesnob)ย Naos is anย indoor buffet-style breakfast, which was great for grabbing a quick bite before we headed out for our whale watching tour. More to come on that!

Now I wanna go! Just wondering…and maybe I’m reading this wrong, did you mean that the Chef has a total of 7 stars or the restaurant (because they only go up to 3…)?

I LOVED your photos! Thank you so much for sharing. I have been heavily researching this resort for days now and was having a hard time pulling the trigger based off a few negative reviews I read. After reading this post you completely changed my mind. I wanted to ask you what room type you booked and if you happened to remember the floor or room number- I LOVED it and would love to stay in a room just like it! Thank you!

Wow! Your pictures are absolutely beautiful! I’ve been debating between this resort and another resort in Cabo for my upcoming trip in June! Did the Paradisus have any parties or nightlife at the resort to look forward to?
