I actually popped in to Bluemercuryย on Tuesday between doctors appointments for a little retail therapy. I picked up this new candle, this hair treatment, and this moisture cream for my hair.
Remember this not-so-little stock-up session before the holidays?!ย I purchased the M-61 PowerGlow Peelsย in November and have been using them about once or twice a week ever since. I got an amazing facial in London this fall (at the One Aldwych Spa) and the esthetician told me I have a few broken blood vessels and needed to be careful with gritty exfoliants. Since then, these peel pads have functioned as my exfoliant! If you win, you’ll have to let me know how you like them.
Also, for my Chicago gals… I just saw that they’re opening a location at Clark & Kinzie and I am so so so excited to have a store downtown in addition to Halsted in Lincoln Park and on Southport Corridor. No idea when it opens, I only saw signs in the window as I was driving by!
Update: That store is now open in River North, as is a location at State & Elm in the Gold Coast near me!

Also, a little story about my favorite Diptyque candles… The reason for my Bluemercury visit this week was to pick upย one of the new Diptyque candles. Every year, Diptyque partners with a designer on a limited-edition rose-scented candle. Rose is, by far, my favorite scent to burn in my home and also to wear so I always look forward to scooping up their latest rose-based scent! 2015 was my favorite year so far… Rosafolia smells heavenly. I can’t smell it without instantly smiling. (I’m currentlyย on my last candle from when Iย stocked up that year… It only gets burned on special occasions, ha!) I wasn’t in love with last year’s Rosaviola, but the empty jar sure looks pretty holding makeup brushes on my vanity in my bathroom. This year’s scent is Rosa Mundi and I really, really like it so far! It sort of reminds me of the scent I’m obsessed with from two years ago… I bought two yesterday, but I’m willing to bet I grab another one (or ten) before they’re gone. I will say, though, that I’ve loved how the past few years have been a different jar… A white jar with flowers printed (see it here, here,ย & here!) and pink jar with little patches (see it here!) … But this year it’s just a clear jar with a paper-like wrapping glued to it. Coming from someone who saves all of my Diptyque jars for mini vases and storage in my bathroom (lipsticks, q-tips, floss picks, makeup brushes, you name it), obviously the pretty exterior will have to be removed before washing it and removing the excess wax to repurpose the jar. I don’t want to ruin it now and take the wrapping off, so I’m not sure what exactly is on the glass or if it’s just plain without a label at all. Whew, who knew I had so much to say about rose-scented candles?! 😜
There is one in the same shopping center as my store and I spend a good chunk of my break in there! It’s such a “Kid in the candy Store” place!

I’ve been a loyal BM fan since 2002. Marla, Jon and the BM team are great! How are the Rodial eye patches? I’ve never tried the Rodial line before. Very curious.
Wow, that’s awesome you’ve been following the brand that long! I’m sure it’s been awesome to see how much it’s grown. I really love the Rodial Dragons Blood line. (Crazy name, though. Am I right? haha) It’s super hydrating and almost ‘plumping,’ if that makes sense. I used every last drop of the moisturizer and need to re-stock! The eye patches are perfect for making your eye area look less tired… I feel like you instantly see a difference in hydration and glow after wearing them! I wear them for about 20ish minutes when I need a boost.
Sounds magical. I’ll have to check them out one day when the windchill factor is above 20. Brrrrr!!!!!
