If there’s one thing other than rosé that I absolutely cannot resist in the summer, it’s an ice cream cone! When I lived in New York, Mister Softee was my JAM. I moved to New York in the summer and there was a Mister Softee truck right outside of my L-train station (14th & 1St!) almost every day on my way home from work. While I wouldn’t allow myself to get one every day, it was way too tempting to grab a soft-serve cone with sprinkles after climbing out of the humid subway station. When I lived on the LES, Morgenstern’s was a stop I made far too frequently. And Davey’s in the East Village was a favorite, too!
Oh and if you’re in New York, don’t be fooled by the imposter ice cream trucks. There is only one Mister Softee. (Multiple trucks, but only one Mister Softee brand.) You’ve got to scope the side of the truck carefully! Looking at you, Master Softee…
My dad is an ice cream fanatic, too, so maybe it’s genetic or something. I’m on a constant quest for good ice cream, but honestly, I don’t discriminate in the least. From Jeni’s to Dairy Queen, I love it all.
Jeni’s has been one of my favorite discoveries since I moved to Chicago! The shop on Southport is just so cute… Subway tile on the walls, marble tables, and even twinkly lights hanging… It’s an Instagram just waiting to happen. Her flavors are so unique, too! On this particular day, I went with the Lemon & Blueberry Buttermilk Frozen Yogurt and it was so incredibly refreshing on a hot summer day. (I guess it wasn’t technically ice cream, but minor details. ) Some of my other favorite flavors include her seasonal Pumpkin with Amaretti Cookies, Salty Caramel, Bourbon Salted Pecan, Salted Peanut Butter & Chocolate, and Strawberry Buttermilk. I’m dying to try the new Key Lime Frozen Yogurt, too!
Now that we’ve got the important things out of the way (ahem, ice cream!), let’s talk about this outfit for a second, too… Sail to Sable is currently on Rue La La and this dress is marked down to $99!! I’ve been wearing this white eyelet dress constantly over the last few months… In Palm Beach, in LA, and quite often here in Chicago, too. I absolutely love it! I also have this pink striped dress and it’s marked down to $69! Almost all sizes are available, too, so hurry hurry!
One of my favorite scarf tying tricks is to tie one onto your bag handle. Such a fun way to add a pop to your outfit! This striped scarf is sold out, but I’ve got my eye on this one and this one next.
Oh, and if you’re into these gingham bow-tied slides, they’re majorly on sale right now with an extra 40% off! I’m lusting after the denim pair, too.
Get the Look…
White Eyelet Dress c/o
Denim Jacket (also love this one!)

PS: If you’re looking for a healthier ice cream alternative, Hallie and I have been obsessed with Halo Top (found at Whole Foods) and Arctic Zero (found at Plum Market). SO, SO GOOD! And yes, I eat an entire pint in one sitting. Not sorry. I mean, is there any other way? And PS: The trick is to letting it thaw for at least 5 mins on the counter before you dig in. It tastes so much better after thawing a bit than it does when completely frozen! Trust.
LOVE your dress and have heard such great things about Jeni’s! Also totally agree re: Halo Top and Arctic Zero…so freaking good!
There was a long time in my life when I didn’t like ice cream. But in the last years I learned to appreciate ice cream 🙂 Love the dress!

Such a perfect summer casual look!
I don’t live in and have never visited Chicago, but hey…I’m always a fan of good ice cream! I know where to visit for ice cream if I’m every in Chicago though! I have found though, some of the smaller non-chain shops I’ve been to are awesome!
Cute white dress! Sophie x

I’ve been eyeing that fabulous bag but I’m having a hard time justifying it after scooping up an Ark bag.
also, is it me or does anyone else read ‘penis’ instead of ‘jeni’s’? no?
