Cape for a Cause

striped-cape-fall

It’s hard to believe that October is over half-way over, and kind of depressing, too! I absolutely love October, but with the clothing line launch this past weekend, most of my month (and the last few months) has been focused on that. I’m dedicating these last few weeks of October to crossing everything off my fall bucket list — eating pumpkin flavored everything, going apple picking, going to a football game, etc.

Another reason I love October is the fact that it’s Breast Cancer Awareness Month. Outside of the cute pink products, it’s a cause that is close to the heart and I’m always looking for ways to support. Talbots created a limited-edition capsule collection with 20% of the October net sales to be donated to the National Breast Cancer Foundation to assist in their mission to promote early detection and education.

I’m wearing a plaid wrap/cape from the Talbots capsule collectionThe cape combines all of the must-have colors of the season… Grey, blush pink, and a deep wine color. I kept my outfit color palette the same… Blush pink sweater, grey pumps, mauve sunglasses, and an eggplant-colored bucket bag.

Love this cape from Talbots. It’s great when retailers support such a worthy cause. I also have to say that I really loved watching you on Evine on Friday night. You were AH-MAZING!

I donate to Susan G Komen for the Cure each and every month, as breast cancer has affected many women in my family, as well as friends. Seeing as each organization (Talbots is donating to the National Breast Cancer Foundation, not Susan G Komen) is supporting the same mission, my monetary contribution to the cause is most certainly not $0.
