NYE with FTD

I’ve rambled on about my football fandom on quite a few occasions. I shared my love for my Alma Mater, the University of Illinois. I’ve worn outfits showing how football and fashion can coexist. I’ve given you the backstory on how I ended up liking sports in the first place. And today, it all kind of comes full circle!

Today, Hallie & I are headed out to Pasadena, California to attend all of the fun festivities surrounding the Rose Parade and the Rose Bowl with the team at FTD! Pinch-me moment, 100%. I am so excited to go behind the scenes with FTD and experience the Rose Parade from an insider’s view! Aside from attending the game, the pep rallies, and the tailgates (which will all be a ton of fun.. obviously!), we get the incredible experience of going behind the scenes at the famous Rose Parade. We’ll have the chance to get an up-close and personal peek at the floats, see the VIP vehicle decorating first-hand, chat with the amazing designers behind it all, and more. I’m overly excited to get to see all of the beautiful blooms in person … Can you imagine? ALL OF THE INSTAS. Even if football is not your thing, the Rose Parade is something that almost everyone can get behind! 6,000 stems of flowers and foliage will be featured on this year’s vehicles and over 300 pounds of flowers will be used on each. I can hardly wait to see it all in person!

Hallie and I will be taking over the FTD Blog, as well as their social media channels, while we are there. Be sure to follow along! My first blog post is already up on the FTD Blog… Click on over to read it!

My parents went to the Rose Bowl in the 2007-2008 season when Illinois played and they absolutely raved about the Rose Parade, the intricacy of the floats, and overall how wonderful it was to experience such a historical event. I’m so excited to see it all for myself!

Hallie and I have a packed itinerary and it’s sure to be a fun-filled week! Plus, escaping the Northeast weather for the week and spending New Years in sunny Pasadena sounds pretty fabulous. We’re flying out today and will be in California through the end of the week. We’ll be ‘gramming and tweeting up a storm so be sure to follow along! 🙂

PS: A bit of a back story on these t-shirts… We found them at Bik Bok when we were in Oslo, Norway earlier this fall. Too perfect not to snatch up! We had no idea where we would wear them, but this photo shoot was the perfect place. We’re both ready for a little escape from the city!
