Guest Post: Hitha from Hitha on the Go

Hi there! Hope you’re enjoying all of the guest posts on Bows & Sequins this week. Today Hitha will be sharing her favorite NYC spots with you. (Hello, bucket list!!) I first met Hitha at the IFB Conference last September and then we had a wonderful lunch and stroll through Central Park when I was out there in February. As we were walking through Central Park, I remember telling her, “You have to hold me to this decision (of moving to NYC).” Welp, guess she did. 🙂

Hi Bows and Sequins readers!  I’m Hitha, filling in for Jessica as she moves to my city, New York!  I’ve lived in the Big Apple for 15 months and have finally found my go-to places – for pampering, a good meal, or to get a great drink.

Get Beautiful

drybar – Getting gorgeous hair with a glass (or two) of prosecco is the perfect remedy for a bad day.

10/10 – Fabulous nail salon, right next to the Dry Bar Midtown, that carries Chanel polish and has WiFi.  The new power girl meeting place.

Om Factory – When life is overwhelming, a new perspective is always a good call.  Anti-Gravity Yoga provides just that.

Get Nourished

Blue Ribbon Sushi – Get the sushi sampling platter and a glass of cava – the perfect summertime meal.

HK Café – My go-to boozy brunch spot.  Fabulous eggs, bottomless mimosas, and right next to the Hells Kitchen Flea Market.  There are few better ways to spend a Saturday morning.

Anejo Tequileria – The best margaritas and tacos in NYC.  Ask for the cucumber and jalapeno margarita, the fish and short-rib tacos and a table outside.

Get Your Party On

Don’t Tell Mama – A major step above the karaoke joint, DTM is where Broadway performers come to sing and let their hair down.  It’s like getting a Broadway performance for the price of a few drinks.  Score!

Flute – Who doesn’t love a glass of champagne?  There are no lack of options at this cozy champagne bar, either in Gramercy or in Midtown.

Vinatta Project – Pick your poison and favorite flavor profiles, and the (very cute) bartenders at Vinatta Project will prepare your ideal drink.  Pace yourself and limit it to 2 at this place – these cocktails are potent.

Here are some more things to do in NYC this summer.

I was just in NYC last weekend and completely forgot about drybar. Will have to check it out next time I’m in town and other places you have listed here!

What program do you use to make the header?

      Hi Patricia,

If you’re inquiring about the Bows & Sequins header at the top of the page, I had Danielle from Just Dandy make it. You can learn more about her services here: http://www.dandydesignsboutique.com/

      Patricia,

If you’re asking about the graphic, I used a program called SnagIt to make it.

I’ve heard so many great things about drybar! My friend Lucie works there – I’ve never been, but if you’re looking for a fab blowout, ask for her!
