I’m going to be honest… Each and every time I type the color that is a lighter shade of black, I rack my brain to remember if it’s an A or an E, never remember, and just pick one knowing that I’m probably wrong. Well here it is folks. There is a website devoted to the spelling confusion. “GrAy in America. GrEy in England.”
Anywho, the skies have been gray and so have my outfits. I’m a strong believer that I need sunshine to feel like myself. Kinda makes ya wonder why I’m moving to NYC instead of Florida, but that’s a horse of a different color.
These shoes: Two Parts Dorothy, One Part “They’re-glitter-and-on-sale-for-$45-so-naturally-I-have-to-buy-them-even-though-I-very-rarely-wear-red.” I’ve worn them to a Blackhawks game earlier this season and this past Monday to dinner and to a bar to watch the Blackhawks play lose. Apparently Dorothy is a big Blackhawks fan.
Blazer: J.Crew (similar for less) // Gingham Shirt: J.Crew // Red Glitter Flats: J.Crew (similar for less) // Denim: Citizens // Watch: Michael Kors (almost identical) // White & Black Rhinestone Bracelets: Bauble Bar (sold out) // Leopard Bangle: Sequin NYC (on sale for $17.99!) // Striped Bangle: Sequin NYC (on sale for $15.99 in Black/White, Orange/Cream, Yellow/Silver) // Nails: Essie ‘Sure Shot’
Oh, one last thing… Sorry for the lack of photographs. There were four men standing behind a sliding glass door across the street while Megan H was talking these pictures. Talk about awkward! I couldn’t stop laughing (my natural instinct in awkward situations) so the pictures didn’t exactly turn out. #CREEPS
[Disclaimer: Lack of photos is in part due to the fact that Megan and I had just consumed our body weights in sushi and I resembled a whale. A very large, beached whale. The aquatic-mammal-status could also be explained by the fact that my two main food groups have been Lemon Bars and Puppy Chow Cookies, but more on those later.]
Moving to NYC? We need details! That’s so exciting, congrats girl!!
Thank you!! I’m so excited! I’ll give you guys some more details soon 🙂
Before I read your post, I thought of Dorthy. The good thing about a gray outfit is the fun you can have with your shoes/bags/etc. I know this weather hasn’t screamed bright fun colors lately.
Gray is definitely a great canvas to add snazzy accessories!
Lol…gray vs. grey. I faced this recently and don’t think I ever found a straight answer-think I got it now! Lovin the gingham…
Glad I could help with the GRAY debacle 🙂
Cute photos! 🙂 Love the Dorothy red glitter shoes! And too bad there was a group of creepers watching you take photos. I’m finally just getting used to our neighbors looking at us, but I’m sure it would be much worse if I took photos downtown! And congrats on moving to NYC! Sounds like an amazing opportunity 🙂
This was by far the creepiest situation so far! Normally it’s just people walking by and judging/staring. The increasing number of men in a window takes the cake!
We just had this debate at work recently! I have always spelled it gray, just because I like the look of it better, but it turns out I spell almost everything in the “American” way (I’m from Canada, and typically we spell things the same as England!) Color vs. Colour, etc. Also, exciting that you’re moving to NYC!
Too funny that you just had this debate at work. Mine is always an internal debate! ha
I love the red shoes! I also love your arm candy! <3
Thanks Andrea!
SO cute! Love the shoes and I’m always so impressed by your extensive bangle/bracelet collection…so fun!
Thanks Jenni! I flock to jewelry in stores… It’s just so much easier to buy… No trying-on required! 🙂
Love the shoes! I think it ties the hole thing together 🙂
Thank you!
Grey or gray, either way it’s super cute!!
Thanks Jessica! Appreciate you commenting 🙂
I think i prefer grey 😉
Also, Moving to NYC?! How exciting!
I think they are both acceptable so spell it however you prefer! 🙂
Love the gingham! I am most definitely a gingham girl! Would you mind telling me which LV style your purse is? I love how classic it looks and how you can use it easily with a lot of your outfits!
